Continuing its goal of rewarding scholarship and citizenship, the Blue and Gold Educational Foundation is proud to present scholarships to the graduating class of Canby High School. Blue and Gold has been supporting our Canby students for over 25 years.
Two $1500 scholarships are awarded based on grade point averages.
-Community Initiative Scholarships
Two $1000 scholarships awarded to high achieving students.
-Esther & Wesley Harms Scholarships
Two $1000 endowment scholarships were created from the estate of Esther and Westley Harms.
-G.O. Miller & Carolyn Miller Scholarship
This $1000 endowment scholarship was created from the estate of Laura Miller, a teacher honoring her parents who farmed near Porter, and is given to a student pursuing agriculture studies.
-Richard J. Larson & Leone M. Keene Scholarship
This $1000 scholarship was endowed by Richard J. Larson, a 1941
Canby graduate and retired principal of Hastings Public Schools..
-Agriculture Scholarship
A scholarship of $750 is awarded to a student entering an agricultural field.
-Adeline and Lawrence Driessen Ag Scholarship
The Adeline and Lawrence Driessen Scholarship is a $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a senior going into an agriculture program.
-Farmers Cooperative Association Scholarship
This scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a graduating senior entering an agricultural program or pursuing cooperative education.
-Canby Firemen's Scholarships
The Canby Firemen's Scholarship is a $250 scholarship which will be awarded to two seniors attending a one or two year college.
-Clark-Hanson VFW #117, Canby Scholarships
Two $250 scholarships will be awarded to seniors whose parents or grandparents are members of Clark-Hanson VFW Post #117, Canby.
-Outland Renewable Energy Scholarship
Outland’s $1,000 renewable energy scholarship recognizes a graduating senior who is pursuing a post high school degree in the field of renewable energy.
-A New Leaf "Think Big" Scholarship
The A New Leaf "Think Big" $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who thinks or dreams big in a humanitarian, academic or occupational area.
-Janice Roske Jeronen Memorial Scholarship
Janice, her brother Dennis, their father Donald Roske, and their grandfathers, Archie Allen and Charles Roske, all attended Canby High School. This is a $200 scholarship which will be awarded to a student who majors in business
-Canby Area Quilters Scholarship
This $100 scholarship grew out of left over proceeds from an annual quilting show held during a Blue & Gold fundraising event.
-Milton Hanson Memorial Scholarship
This $1000 scholarship is given in memory of Milton Hanson by his wife, Lois.
-Dakota Wind Ben Thovson Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is given by Dakota Wind in memory of Ben Thovson,a former CHS graduate and EMS employee. The award is presented to a senior pursing renewable resources or science.
